Lava Officially Launches the Virat Curve Smartphone with a Curved AMOLED Display and Massive 6,000 mAh Battery

Domestic smartphone manufacturer Lava has officially lifted the veil on its latest device, the Virat Curve, fulfilling promises made to the market just last week. Following considerable anticipation surrounding its design language and hardware capabilities, the newly unveiled handset arrives as a compelling option in the mid-range segment, combining immersive display technology, robust performance architecture, and an unusually large battery capacity for a form factor that emphasizes curved aesthetics.

At the center of the user experience is a striking 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display. The panel delivers a crisp 1080×2400 resolution, ensuring sharp text and detailed imagery for media consumption, gaming, and everyday navigation. Complementing the resolution is a fluid 120Hz refresh rate, which guarantees smooth animations, transitions, and scrolling behavior across the user interface. To ensure readability under diverse lighting conditions, the screen is capable of reaching a peak brightness of 1,100 nits, allowing users to comfortably view content outdoors or in brightly lit environments.

Underneath the glass exterior, the Virat Curve is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7100 system-on-chip. This processor is engineered to balance energy efficiency with reliable performance for multitasking, social media management, and casual gaming. The chipset is paired with 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM, offering rapid data transfer speeds and efficient memory management, alongside 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. This combination provides ample space for applications, photographs, and media files while maintaining responsive app-launch times.

In the imaging department, the smartphone is equipped with a primary 50-megapixel rear camera sensor. Lava has chosen Sony’s IMX752 sensor for the main shooter, a component recognized for its capability to capture detailed photographs with accurate color reproduction and strong low-light performance. For selfies and video calls, the front-facing camera features a 13-megapixel resolution sensor housed within the display cutout.

One of the standout hardware features of the Virat Curve is its robust power configuration. Keeping the device operational throughout long days of heavy usage is a substantial 6,000 mAh battery. Despite packing this high-capacity power cell, the handset maintains a sleek profile enabled by its curved display and ergonomic chassis design. The battery supports 45W wired fast charging, allowing users to replenish power quickly when needed. Adding further value to the retail package, Lava includes a 33W charger directly in the box, ensuring consumers have out-of-the-box support for rapid power replenishment.

Durability and utility have also been factored into the engineering of the Virat Curve. The device carries an IP64 rating, certifying its resistance to dust ingress and accidental water splashes. When it hits the market on September 28, the Virat Curve will be available in three distinct color finishes: Heritage Indigo, Makrana Ivory, and Ellora Slate. Early adopters will be able to take advantage of a special introductory launch price of INR 19,999, which translates to approximately $208 USD, positioning the device competitively against rival offerings in its class.
