Samsung Expands Android 17-Based One UI 9 Rollout to the US, Starting with T-Mobile Galaxy S26 Devices

Just one week after initially debuting its major software update in South Korea, Samsung has officially commenced the international rollout of One UI 9. Built on top of Android 17, the fresh software package is now making its way to US shores, with users of the flagship Galaxy S26 series being the first in the region to experience the upgrade.

The rollout in the United States begins with carrier-locked and unlocked variants associated with T-Mobile, marking the official domestic launch of the platform. Arriving over-the-air as a substantial 4.1GB download, the update carries the build number ending in "BZID" and brings the full suite of Android 17 features alongside Samsung’s latest custom interface design and capabilities.

Given T-Mobile’s role in opening the update floodgates for American consumers, industry watchers anticipate that major competing carriers such as AT&T and Verizon will soon follow suit, deploying their own localized builds of One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra in the near future.

The software also introduces refinements to Now Nudge, designed to streamline daily interactions and cut down the number of steps required to complete common tasks across the device.

Furthermore, Samsung has packed a series of performance improvements into the Android 17 update, touching several core applications and utilities. Enhancements have been rolled out for Creative Studio, providing creators with smoother editing tools, while the onboard Interpreter, Document Scan, and Voice Recorder applications receive notable upgrades in accuracy and functionality.

Navigation through the device settings has also been slightly adjusted to improve user experience, highlighted by the introduction of a brand-new Warranty and Care menu integrated directly into the Settings application. This dedicated section consolidates device health information, warranty status, and support options into a single, easily accessible location for users looking to manage their hardware support directly from their phone.
