The Walt Disney Company is once again adjusting the financial landscape of its streaming ecosystem, implementing a fresh round of price increases for monthly Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions that impact both new and existing users. The latest adjustments touch nearly every corner of the company’s standalone and bundled entertainment offerings, reflecting a broader industry trend toward maximizing profitability in the competitive subscription video-on-demand market.

Under the new pricing structure, subscribers opting for the premium, ad-free tiers of either Disney+ or Hulu will see a noticeable bump in their monthly expenses. Both ad-free standalone plans are increasing by $2.50, bringing the new monthly cost to $21.49 for each service. Meanwhile, the combined ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle is experiencing a slightly more modest adjustment, rising by $2 to hit a new rate of $21.99 per month.

Disney+ and Hulu subscriptions are getting expensive

For consumers who prefer to offset their streaming costs by watching advertisements, the increases are considerably smaller, though still present. The individual ad-supported plans for both Disney+ and Hulu are going up by $0.50, pushing the monthly price for each service to $12.49. Interestingly, the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle remains entirely unchanged, holding steady at its previous price point of $12.99 per month, which may serve to steer budget-conscious viewers toward keeping or adopting the dual-platform package.

For new customers, these updated rates apply immediately upon registration. Existing subscribers, on the other hand, should have already received formal notifications regarding the impending price adjustments via email or account alerts. According to the company’s rollout schedule, these new prices will automatically take effect for current users during their very next billing cycle, leaving households to decide whether to absorb the higher costs, switch to ad-supported alternatives, or reevaluate their digital entertainment portfolios altogether.
