Apple has announced a massive wave of updates for Creator Studio, the subscription bundle for creative professionals that was first introduced back in January. Touted by the company as the most significant refresh since the service’s initial launch, the new software features a deep integration of advanced artificial intelligence assistants, powerful third-party professional plug-ins, and expanded workflow tools spanning across video editing, audio production, and office productivity suites.

The extensive set of enhancements touches nearly every cornerstone application included in the ecosystem, bringing sophisticated creative assets and automation capabilities directly to content creators, musicians, and office professionals alike. For video editors using Final Cut Pro for Mac, the software now features native MotionVFX integration. This integration grants editors direct access to thousands of professionally designed templates, graphics, titles, and transitions, alongside advanced tools for rotoscoping, precise motion tracking, and color grading.

Further expanding the editing suite’s asset library, Final Cut Pro now includes the Content Hub, providing editors with a curated selection of stock videos, photos, and backgrounds directly within the application interface. Another major workflow improvement allows users to open any image from their timeline directly inside Pixelmator Pro, automatically saving any applied changes back to the active project. Creators can also generate brand-new images from text descriptions right inside the timeline. Additional video editing features include enhanced keyframe easing options, the flexibility to disconnect clips from the primary storyline and position them anywhere on the timeline, and an expanded localization footprint adding 23 new transcription languages.

Motion has also received the MotionVFX plug-in integration, equipping motion graphics artists with cinematic color grading capabilities, 3D camera tracking, and one-click selection tools. Much like Final Cut Pro, Motion gains text-to-image generation, round-trip editing capabilities with Pixelmator Pro, and a brand-new Displacement filter. For media export and compression, Compressor has been updated to handle the encoding of Cinematic mode video footage recorded on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.

In the graphics and image editing department, Pixelmator Pro introduces an advanced feature called Generate Fill. Users can simply circle an area of an image, or leverage the software’s existing selection tools, and describe the desired change in natural language. The system intelligently matches the lighting, perspective, and texture of the surrounding environment, upscales the final result using Super Resolution technology, and seamlessly inserts the creation as a new layer complete with a mask for precise further tweaking.

Audio professionals utilizing Logic Pro on both Mac and iPad will immediately notice an all-new Liquid Glass design interface. On the Mac platform, Logic Pro gains a brand-new assistant currently in beta. Powered by a combination of Apple-built models and third-party models, this AI assistant is designed to help musicians start a new song, set up a complex vocal track from a single text prompt, or refine an active creative project.

Logic Pro’s redesigned Browser now brings loops, virtual instruments, and effect patches together into a single, unified location, which conveniently includes an integrated Splice library. A new on-device feature known as music understanding automatically analyzes and tags audio sounds, making it effortless to drag in a loop and instantly find matching companion audio tracks. Furthermore, the Stem Splitter tool has been upgraded to isolate, replace, or rebalance drum tracks with greater accuracy. The update also introduces a fresh Producer Pack created by 20-time Grammy winner Sergio George, while Voice Memo Studio Sound arrives to automatically cut room ambience and unwanted background noise from recordings captured on supported iPhone models.

The productivity applications Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are similarly receiving a substantial infusion of intelligence. A new context-aware AI assistant, built on a combination of Apple’s proprietary models and OpenAI technology, now understands the deep context of open documents. In Keynote, the assistant aids in designing, animating, and refining slide decks. In Pages, it assists with drafting and restructuring text documents. In Numbers, it excels at calculating, visualizing, and organizing complex data, while actively recommending appropriate chart types and building tables utilizing real-world knowledge.

Productivity workflows are further supercharged by the introduction of Model Context Protocol (MCP) support. This allows external AI agents to read content, make direct edits, and execute automated actions across all three productivity applications. Keynote, Pages, and Numbers also gain access to stock video through the Content Hub alongside a variety of fresh templates and themes. Keynote specifically adds support for the open, JSON-based Keynote Interchange Format with the .keyx extension. Meanwhile, Freeform introduces new text styles and custom board background colors, with scheduled additions in December that will bring Pixelmator Pro image editing capabilities and editable shapes generated from text descriptions to the collaborative digital whiteboard.

The entire suite of updates will roll out to the App Store in November and will be provided completely free of charge to existing subscribers. Apple noted that the newly introduced AI assistants are currently limited to US English and require a device capable of running Apple Intelligence features. Specifically, the Logic Pro assistant requires macOS 27 Golden Gate, the office assistant features in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers require iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27, and Model Context Protocol support is restricted to Mac devices running macOS 27.

For new users, Creator Studio remains available at a standard pricing tier of $12.99 per month or $129 per year following a one-month free trial period. Customers who purchase a new Mac or a qualifying iPad will receive a three-month free subscription trial. Educational pricing is available for college students and educators at a reduced rate of $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year, with family sharing capabilities allowing up to six family members to share a single subscription.
